On Sunday, October 31 2010, the eve of the St. John of Kronstadt, our parish held our 2nd Annual Harvest Festival. Over 40 parishioners enjoyed potluck dinner, and our younger parishioners enjoyed many fall activities and crafts.
On September 14, 2010 Fr. Andrei (Erastov) came for a month to continue the adornment of our church walls with icons. This phase consisted of putting up canvases with the icons of the Crucifixion, Resurrection, Nativity of our Lord and Theophany. Once these canvases and the ornaments which surround them were up, Fr. Andrei painted a mural of the Holy Myrrhbearers at the tomb of Christ on the southern wall between the windows. He had time to start the work on the Icon of the Meeting of the Lord which will be on the north wall between the window. Fr. Theophan came from Holy Trinity Monastery to assist Fr. Andrei. We thank our iconographers and all who helped with putting up the beautiful icons. Special thanks to our parish sisterhood who took turns providing meals for our monks and workers throughout their stay here.
Very special thanks to our donors who have made payment for the new icons possible. The cost of all the icons has not yet been covered. If you would like to donate towards the icons you can donate on our web-site or please contact our Building Fund Treasurer Protodeacon Andrej Strapko.
Lazarus Saturday Celebration, March 27, 2010. Our parish has long had a tradition for our children to sing Liturgy on Lazarus Saturday. This year the children sung beautifully under the direction of our assistant Choir Director Elizabeth Franklin. After the service we made our usual photo but forgot to include the Choir Director. Dear Elizabeth, we regret the omission.
